Strategic Cooperation: Red carpet welcome and bilateral Talks

President U Min Aung Hlaing, who is on a state visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic, was officially welcomed by Lao President Thongloun Sisoulith at the Presidential Palace in Vientiane on Friday.

On his arrival at the Lao Presidential Palace, the President and wife were welcomed by Lao scout children waving the national flags of both countries.

At the palace, Lao President and his wife warmly received the Myanmar President and wife. The two presidents attended an official welcome ceremony, during which they received a guard of honour and reviewed the honour guard. They also introduced members of their respective delegations.

The two leaders then proceeded to the meeting hall for bilateral talks, where they discussed matters on strengthening cooperation in trade, tourism, education, health, energy, border development, security, and efforts to combat online scams.

Following the meeting, both sides exchanged memorandums of understanding on tourism cooperation and establishing a sister-city relationship between Nay Pyi Taw and Vientiane. Myanmar also donated 640 doses of antivenom medicine to Laos during the ceremony.
