The Ministry of Finance and Revenue has extended tax exemptions on imports of diesel fuel, fertilizers and liquefied natural gas (LNG) until June 30, 2026.

The ministry said the extension aims to ease the impact of rising global fuel prices, support agricultural production and reduce electricity generation costs. Under the measure, imports of HSD (500 ppm) diesel fuel will continue to be exempt from customs duty, special goods tax, commercial tax and the 2% advance income tax.

Fertilizer imports will remain exempt from the 2% advance income tax, while LNG imports will continue to be exempt from customs duty, commercial tax and advance income tax. The exemptions apply to eligible imports for which Import Declarations (ID) are opened with the Customs Department by June 30, 2026, according to the ministry.
