






Myanma Railways will expand its air-conditioned DEMU express train services on the Yangon–Mandalay route starting June 1 due to strong passenger demand.
The new services, Train No. 9 (up) and Train No. 10 (down), will operate daily between Yangon and Mandalay.The Yangon-to-Mandalay train will depart at 8:30 a.m. and arrive at 6:30 p.m., while the Mandalay-to-Yangon service will depart at 8:30 a.m. and arrive at 6:40 p.m.
The trains will stop at Toegyaung Kalay, Bago, Phyu, Taungoo, Nay Pyi Taw, Tatkone, Pyawbwe, and Thazi stations along the route.Ticket prices remain unchanged at 48,000 kyats for upper-class seats and 34,000 kyats for first-class seats for the full journey.
Myanma Railways said passengers can purchase tickets online through the Online Railways Ticketing and Payment (ORTP) system up to seven days in advance for full-route journeys and five days in advance for intermediate stations.
The railway operator has already launched several modern air-conditioned DEMU train services on the Yangon–Mandalay and Yangon–Nay Pyi Taw routes as part of efforts to improve passenger transport services.
