Search and Rescue Training: District-level search and rescue training opened

The opening ceremony of the District-Level Search and Rescue Training Course (1/2026), organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Yangon Region Fire Services Department, was held Tuesday morning at the Insein Township Hall in Insein Township, Yangon Region. Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu attended the ceremony and delivered the opening remarks.

Afterward, the Yangon Region Chief Minister and officials observed the search and rescue equipment displayed at the event.

In the District-Level Search and Rescue Training Course (1/2026), instructors will provide both theoretical and practical training to 100 fire brigade members from May 25 to June 5.

Following this, the Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu and officials visited no. (1) Basic Education High School in Insein Township and No. (2) Basic Education High School in Mayangone Township as part of Yangon Region’s 2026–2027 school enrollment week. At the schools, teachers and responsible officials were accepting student enrollments, and the Chief Minister observed and encouraged their activities. Officials explained the progress of the enrollment process, and the Chief Minister gave necessary instructions and warmly greeted the students.

For the 2026–2027 academic year, school enrollment across townships in Yangon Region will be conducted from May 25 to May 31. Students are also being provided free textbooks, exercise books, school uniforms, ballpoint pens, pencils, and other educational support materials, it’s reported.
