Propagation of Sasana: Chairman Sayadaw travels to South Korea

Chairman of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Sayadaw Dr. Bhaddanta Candimabhivamsa, traveled to South Korea to attend the "50 Years of Gratitude & Friendship, 100 Years of Mercy” ceremony in Seoul on May 24.

The visit came at the invitation of the Korean Wave Culture Industry Forum (KWCIF). The Sayadaw and delegation arrived in South Korea on May 22 and was welcomed at Incheon Airport by Myanmar embassy officials.

During the visit, the Sayadaw met senior Korean Buddhist leaders at Jogyesa Temple and the Jogye Order headquarters in Seoul.

The delegation also visited Dongguk University, met students, and joined a live program on Korea’s Buddhist Broadcasting System (BBS), where the Sayadaw answered religious questions. They also visited famous Buddhist heritage sites including Bulguksa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and Tongdosa Temple.
