







Renovation works are underway at Kanbawzathadi Palace of King Bayintnaung who founded the second Myanmar Empire, and the Hanthawady City Wall.
On Thursday, Union Minister for Hotels, Tourism and Culture U Maung Myint visited the site to oversee the work progress. The Palace displayed royal regalia and other items, and royal ornamental cart of King Bayintnaung, drawn by 16 horses. At Innwa Gate in the eastern part of Hanthawady Ancient City, public areas are created between the city wall and moat for public recreation.
Plans are underway to renovate the bridge at Motama Gate in the northern part of the city. The renovation measures are being carried out by the budget allotment of Bago Region Government. During the tour, the Union Minister instructed to ensure accurate historical evidences, constant maintenance for long term sustainability, greening environ and development as tourist destinations.
