Iran closes Strait of Hormuz again over US blockade of its ports

Meanwhile, Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz again on Sunday, after declaring it fully opened, with two vessels, coming under fire and turning back without completing the crossing. As mediation efforts continued following high-level talks in Pakistan, Iran said it will not allow the crucial maritime trade chokepoint to re-open until the US ends a blockade of Iranian ports.

Besides, Iran's Revolutionary Guards warned that any attempt to pass through the strait will be considered as cooperation with the enemy, and the offending vessel will be targeted.
