Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed his country has agreed to a 10-day ceasefire with Lebanon. But he made it clear that Israel has not agreed to withdraw its forces deployed in southern Lebanon. Netanyahu released a video statement on Thursday, saying "they have an opportunity to reach a historic peace agreement with Lebanon."

He also indicated that any peace agreement with Lebanon would require Hezbollah, the Iran-backed Shia Muslim group, to disarm. Trump later told reporters that Netanyahu and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun will meet at the White House "over the next week or two."
