Colombia military plane crash death toll rises to 69

Relatives and military personnel gathered in Bogota with candles to pay tribute to the victims of the March 23 military plane crash in southern Colombia.

The death toll of plane crash rose to at least 69 as the government faulted a cheap aircraft donated by the United States. The accident, which is still under investigation, left 57 soldiers injured, as well as residents who were wounded by exploding munitions in the wreckage. The National Institute of Legal Medicine also told that the bodies of the victims will be transferred to Bogota city for forensic investigations.
