WHO and UNICEF provide essential medical supplies for Lebanon

On 18 March, the Ministry of Public Health, in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), received a shipment of essential medical supplies at Rafik Hariri International Airport to support Lebanon’s strained health system amid escalating needs.

The shipment includes 3.5 tons of trauma and emergency health supplies provided by WHO, made possible through the generous support of the European Commission Humanitarian Aid (ECHO). The supplies will help ensure continuity of trauma care and management of acute and infectious diseases.

They include medicines and equipment to sustain lifesaving services across hospitals, primary health care centres and mobile health units serving affected populations.
