Türkiye installed solar power capacity marks an extraordinary 641-fold increase in just over a decade.  The country is witnessing a historic leap in its renewable energy journey. According to recent data, the country’s installed solar power capacity has skyrocketed from a mere 40 megawatts in 2014 to nearly 26,000 MW at the start of 2026.

The transformation of Türkiye’s energy landscape is reflected in the share of solar power within the total installed capacity. By early 2026, that figure has surpassed 20%, meaning solar now provides approximately one-fifth of Türkiye’s total electricity generation capacity.
