Macron speaks on Middle East conflict, Ukraine loan after EU summit

French President Emmanuel Macron called for a de-escalation in the Middle East, describing Israeli operations in Lebanon as "unacceptable", whilst stressing the need to honour the agreement reached by European leaders on the loan to Ukraine following the EU summit on Thursday. 

He stressed that "They are taking a proactive stance to ensure the impact is as minimal as possible, starting by calling for de-escalation and a clarification of the objectives behind this conflict, it can come to an end as quickly as possible."
