Russian envoy reports productive meeting with US negotiators

Russian President Vladimir Putin's envoy said on Wednesday that he had joined a productive meeting in Florida with US negotiators. The discussions in Florida came after the United States lifted some sanctions on Russian oil earlier this week to ease prices as war engulfed the Middle East.

Russian negotiator Kirill Dmitriev posted on X that US teams discussed a variety of topics including Russia-US relations and agreed to stay in touch. He also said that it was the initial step for US to better understand the systemic role of Russian oil and gas in ensuring the stability of the global economy.
