Chile’s new President sworn in for 2026–2030 term

On March 11, José Antonio Kast was sworn in as the new President of Chile during the official inauguration ceremony held in the Hall of Honor of the National Congress in Valparaíso, City in Chile.

During the ceremony, the outgoing president, Gabriel Boric, handed over the O’Higgins Presidential Pin—one of the main symbols of executive authority—while the president of the Senate placed the presidential sash on Kast, formally marking the beginning of his term for the 2026–2030 period.
