






The Finanial Commission held is meeting at the Office of the National Defence and Security Council Chairman on Friday.
Acting President Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in his capacity as Commission Chairman attended the meeting and made a speech. Also present at the meeting were Commission Vice-Chairman Prime Minister U Nyaw Saw, Union Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr. Kan Zaw, Union Ministers and concerned officials.
The Senior General said the meeting is held to adopt the Union Budget and Draft Budget Law drafted for 2026-2027 Fiscal Year. In accordance with the Four Objectives of the National Defence and Security Council, multi-party democracy general elections were held from 28th December 2025 to confer national duties to elected government by holding Hluttaw Meetings. In order to conduct working process constantly, prioritized expenses are needed to grant for agriculture and livestock sector, expenses for MSME development and human resources development, education, health care, natural disaster prevention and rehibilation measures.
The Chairman of Financial Commission stressed for effective utilization of budget allowances for the benefits of the country along with the completion of current working processes meeting set standards. The Financial Commission Chairman added in 2026-2027 Fiscal Year, country's GDP is expected to reach 195,032 billion kyats, with an economic growth rate of 3.4 percent, urging the Commission members to discuss and approve the plan.
Then, Prime Minister U Nyo Saw, said that the budgets for the 2026-2027 fiscal year have been drafted and submitted in accordance with the specifications by the Union-level departments, organizations, regions and states, and have been scrutinized by the relevant departments, organizations and committees. The revenue estimates, expenditures, ordinary expenditures, capital expenditures, and debt expenditures have also been systematically scrutinized and approved. Expenditures have also been intended for unforeseen issues and issues arising from natural disasters, as well as for granting subsidies to civil servants and for the technological development.
The Prime Minister also reported that in the Union's budget for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, including subsidies to regions and states, and the drafted Union's budget bill are to be reviewed and approved by the Finance Commission.
The attendees including Commission Secretary Union Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr. Kan Zaw, Union Attorney and Union Minister for Legal Affairs Dr. Thida Oo, Union Auditor General Dr. Khin Naing Oo, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, Chief Ministers of Regions and States made discussions on current working processes and future plans. Upon the reports, the Acting President SSPC Chairman gave necessary instructions and delivered the speech of conclusion.
