Retired teacher in Türkiye transforms every gourd into a unique work of art

Retired teacher Hasan Bakan had mastered the art of decorating dried bottle gourds. Bakan transforms his home balcony into what resembles a natural exhibition hall, filled with intricately carved and ornamented gourds of various shapes and sizes.

He carefully engraved each piece by hand, turning every gourd into a unique work of art. The finely crafted gourds are often preferred as decorative lighting pieces and souvenirs, admired for their detailed workmanship and natural aesthetic.
