Colombian authorities raided an ELN guerrilla depot in Bogotá on Wednesday, where explosives were being manufactured with the potential to be used in terrorist attacks during this year's elections, Defense Minister said.

The National Liberation Army (ELN), which is powerful insurgent groups in Colombia, announced a unilateral ceasefire this week for the parliamentary and presidential elections. Authorities captured two people including explosive devices during a raid in southern Bogotá.

The operation was carried out by the army and police, in collaboration with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, the minister added, noting an ELN "plan" to disrupt the elections. During the pre-election period, 457 death threats have been registered against social and political leaders, according to the Ombudsman's Office.
