YRIC Meeting (2/2026) : YGN Region CM delivered the opening address

The Yangon Region Investment Committee held its meeting (2/2026) at the committee's office in Yankin Township of Yangon Region on February 24.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of Yangon Region Investment Committee and Region Chief Minister, U Soe Thein, along with committee members and specially invited guests.

Prior to the meeting, Chief Minister U Soe Thein and officials inspected product samples displayed by various investors and entrepreneurs. Following the inspection, the Chief Minister delivered the opening address to the committee.

During the session, the committee officially approved one new 100% foreign direct investment (FDI) project in the industrial sector. The production of various types of Polyester, Synthetic Fabrics, and Lining Materials used in the garment industry, with 100% of sales targeted for the domestic market. The investment capital for this project amounts to US$ 3.025 million. The venture is expected to create 225 job opportunities for local citizens.

In addition to the new approval, the committee discussed and made decisions regarding two existing businesses seeking to increase their investment capital and general matters submitted by 13 different companies, it’s learnt.
