Switzerland and Italy to strength cooperation in Crans-Montana bar fire investigation

Coordination between Switzerland and Italy will be "strengthened" as part of the investigation into the fire in Crans-Montana that left 41 people dead and 115 injured on New Year's Eve, including many Italian victims.

The Italian and Valais criminal authorities reached an agreement in Bern following a meeting between the public prosecutors' offices in Rome and Valais. This meeting comes after weeks of diplomatic tension between the two countries, with Italy regularly criticizing the way Swiss authorities have been conducting the investigation.
