Snow festival kicks off at Mount Korek in Iraq's Kurdistan region

The annual Kurdistan Ice and Snow festival kicked off on Tuesday on Mount Korek in northern Iraq, with more than 50 local and international athletes participating in various snow sports.

The primary objective is to showcase the stunning natural beauty of Kurdistan and Mount Korek to the world, highlighting the region's favourable climate and the suitability of this location for hosting international championships. The goal is to expand these annual activities into a global event, attracting athletes from all over the world to participate in the competitions.
