Strong winds bring dust from Africa, engulfing the Greek capital of Athens and turning the sky hazy. High concentrations of Saharan dust were recorded over much of the country on Sunday, with ground measurements showing dangerously high particle levels.

Severe weather forecasts include gusty winds, thunderstorms, heavy rain, and dust spreading across multiple regions, prompting civil protection advisories.  Authorities warned that the dust could affect air quality and visibility, disrupt travel (flights and ferries), and impact outdoor activities.
