During Angelus Prayer on Sunday, Pope Leo XIV has condemned human trafficking as the scourge of modern slavery, which has taken even more disturbing forms in online societies.

He said the same disregard for human life fuels human trafficking, since armed conflict and geopolitical instability create opportunities for traffickers to exploit people on the move. He also expressed gratitude to those working on the front lines to assist victims of trafficking and acknowledged survivors who now advocate for others.
