EU's Kallas says NATO needs to become more European to maintain its strength

The European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Policy, Kaja Kallas, called on Wednesday for NATO to become “more European to maintain its strength’.

Speaking at the European Defence Agency’s annual conference in Brussels, Kallas noted that the EU is prepared to leverage its ‘budgetary and regulatory power’ to support the alliance. Beyond policy shifts, she emphasized the importance of increased innovation and private financing within the defence sector.
