On January 21-22, the Laïta River surged past 4.4 meters, overtopping flood barriers, submerging quays and forcing evacuations. Storm Ingrid brought heavy rain and gusts of up to 140 km/h, causing widespread disruption to transportation. Aerial footage showed extensive areas submerged, with houses in towns like Malestroit surrounded by water and roads turned into rivers.
