Turkmenistan hosts SPECA economic forum

The SPECA Economic Forum had opened on Saturday in the capital Ashgabat of Turkmenistan as part of the UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) Week.

The event had brought together international experts and delegates to discuss ways to strengthen regional integration. As Chair of SPECA in 2025, Turkmenistan was actively promoting the idea of creating a single regional market for goods, services, and investment.

The forum focuses on digital transformation, e-commerce, and the introduction of green technologies. One of the key objectives of the meeting is the discussion of the SPECA Development Concept through 2030. As a result of the meetings, new joint steps are expected to be outlined to strengthen logistical connectivity and the reliability of transport and communication hubs across the region.
