Indian state Maharashtra to build $11 billion innovation city

India Maharashtra State Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Thursday said the Tata Group will invest 11 billion US dollars in the project, creating a plug-and-play ecosystem for new businesses.

The innovation city will be located near the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport and is being positioned as a future-ready hub for artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and Global Capability Centers.The project is designed to attract global companies, encourage entrepreneurship, and generate employment opportunities in advanced technology sectors.

He added that as technology reshapes the global economy, Maharashtra is building a responsible and world-class innovation ecosystem to strengthen the state’s economic future and benefit its people.
