In Caracas, Venezuela's National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez announced on Tuesday a broad reform in the laws, amid the new political context following the capture of Nicolas Maduro by a US military operation.

The agenda includes changes to the Hydrocarbons Law to encourage foreign investment in the Venezuelan oil sector.

At the National Assembly, Rodríguez said the regulations regarding taxes and royalties must be clearly defined. He did not provide details of the reform, only that it will be inspired by the so-called anti-blockade law, a 2020 legal instrument that allowed investments under a veil of secrecy to circumvent the sanctions imposed by the United States a year earlier.
