Canada Declines Payment for Trump’s “Board of Peace”

Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand said at the World Economic Forum in Davos that Canada will not pay $1 billion to secure a permanent seat on US President Donald Trump’s proposed “Board of Peace” initiative.

The board, aimed at resolving conflicts, was initially designed to oversee Gaza’s rebuilding, but its charter does not appear to restrict its role to the occupied Palestinian territory. Canada is among several nations invited to join the initiative.
