German Chancellor’s first India visit yields several MoUs

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi  on Monday as part of his first official trip to India. Both leaders underscored their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties, particularly in the area of security cooperation.

In the presence of Modi and Chancellor Merz, India and Germany exchanged several memoranda of understanding (MoUs). These include: security cooperation, critical minerals, healthcare sector, Artificial Intelligence Innovation Centre.
