Rule of Law: Operations in northern Shan State

Security forces seized large quantities of equipment used for online scam gambling and drug production during operations in Hsipaw and Mongyai Townships in northern Shan State.

In Hsipaw Township, the security forces discovered buildings used for online scam operations and confiscated laptops, desktop computers, mobile phones, and Starlink satellite devices. Nearby, they also uncovered a drug production site with machinery, chemicals, methamphetamine, and other materials used to manufacture narcotics.

Further operations in Mongyai Township led to the discovery of multiple large-scale drug labs, temporary shelters, warehouses, and thousands of chemical containers, gas cylinders, and production tools. Several suspects were arrested, and items linked to armed groups were also seized.

Preliminary tests indicate the facilities were producing heroin and methamphetamine. Authorities said the seized items will be examined, destroyed according to procedures, and those involved will face legal action. The government stated it will continue nationwide efforts to combat illegal drugs and online scam crimes.
