Drug Seizure: Over K1,700 billion worth drugs seized during 2024-2025

Combined teams of Anti-Narcotics Task Force including related departments from Tatmadaw, Myanmar Police Force, and Custom department, conducted a strategic plan to combat narcotic drug, with accelerated momentum as a national duty.

There are over 5,000 drug cases in 2025, with over 7,000 individuals arrested together with various kinds of narcotic drugs and weapons, worth over 1,700 billion kyats. Similarly, prohibited chemicals including Caffeine and Nitric Acid and other chemical substances to be used in drug production were confiscated.

Also, the opium factory in Mongyai Township, and stimulate tablets factories in Tachileik Township of Shan State were seized together with related materials. According to the Myanmar Police Force, combined team including members of Tatmadaw, Myanmar Police Forces and related departments, people militia, and Special Task Force, has destroyed over 5,000 acres of poppy fields in Shan State (South) and (East) during 2025-2026 cultivation period.
