Meeting in Myitkyina: Discussions on development works in Myitkyina

Union Minister at the President Office (1) U Tin Aung San on Sunday visited Myo Oo Monastery in Myitkyina, and paid respect to the Sayadaw, donating offertories.

Later, he met with Christian leaders at the Kachin Baptist Convention (KBC), calling for cooperation in promoting peace, stability, and the multi-party democratic path. At a meeting held at the Kachin State Government Office, the Union Minister met with departmental personnel, peace advocates, religious organizations, ethnic literature and cultural organizations, entrepreneurs, civil society organizations, and local residents.

The discussions focused on regional development, economic growth, agriculture-based production, MSME development, and electricity generation. The Union Minister also explained the election process, noting that Election Phases (1) and (2) have been held and Phase (3) will take place on January 25.

The meeting also included detailed briefings on the Myitsone Hydropower Project, covering power generation, flood control, river flow, navigation, and safety measures. Local residents shared their views, and officials responded to concerns. The Union Minister later inspected construction sites of the State High Court building and a sluice gate project, instructing officials to ensure quality and timely completion.
