A competitive advantage for Viet Nam rice industry’s green rice

In the future, low-emission green rice will become a competitive advantage for Viet Nam’s rice industry. In 2025, rice exports have faced considerable challenges, as many major markets have scaled back imports, while competition and price pressure continue to intensify. In response, businesses are reassessing their strategies.

The Viet Nam Food Association Chair said the shift from exporting in large volumes to exporting high-value products was creating a clear competitive advantage for Vietnamese rice. This advantage was further strengthened as Viet Nam’s ST25 rice had been honored for the third time as the World’s Best Rice. The variety was highly favored in markets such as China, Europe, and the United States.
