





Winter vegetables in Tatkone Township of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area, are being successfully cultivated. On January 8, experts from agricultural and livestock universities held a field demonstration at a farm in Nwe Yit Village.
During the event, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Tin Htut stressed close cooperation between farmers and experts to improve farming methods, inputs, and problem-solving. He encouraged zoning of vegetable farms, price stability, value-added production, use of solar-powered cold storage, group marketing through the Tatkone Commodity Center, and efforts to make Nwe Yit Village as a model vegetable-producing village.
He also highlighted the need for crop insurance to reduce climate-related risks. The Deputy Minister later visited basic education and agricultural, industrial, and livestock high schools in Tatkone, Pobbathiri, and Pyinmana Townships. He met students and teachers and said the program aims to produce future agriculture and livestock experts.
Successful Grade-12 students will be able to continue their studies at agricultural and livestock universities and institutes. Officials reported on the students learning condition, and cooperation between schools, universities, and farmers for strengthening agricultural development.
