Venezuelan military recognises Delcy Rodriguez as acting president

Flanked by armed military personnel, Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López appeared on state-run media VTV on Sunday to pledge the military’s full support for Delcy Rodríguez as interim president.

Following a Supreme Court mandate, Padrino reaffirmed his loyalty to Nicolás Maduro while condemning the capturing of Maduro and his wife by U.S. forces. He further disclosed that a significant portion of Maduro’s security detail was killed during the leader’s capture on Saturday.
