Göle Becomes Coldest City of Türkiye

A brutal cold wave continues to dominate eastern Türkiye, with the province of Ardahan recording some of the lowest temperatures in the country’s recent history. According to local meteorological data, the town of Göle became the coldest spot in Türkiye registered at minus 39.7 degree Celsius. The surface of the Kura River, a major waterway in the region, has completely frozen over.
