




Due to the passing away of Bangladesh's first female Prime Minister, Begum Khaleda Zia, on December 30, 2025, Union Minister for the Ministry (1) of the President's Office, U Tin Aung San on behalf of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, visited the Embassy of Bangladesh in Myanmar at No. 11(B), Thanlwin Road, Kamayut Township, Yangon, at 12:45 PM on January 2nd, 2026 to sign the condolence book.
First, the Union Minister met and greeted the Ambassador and officials of the Embassy of Bangladesh in Myanmar in the embassy's reception hall.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, he expressed condolences over the passing of Bangladesh's first female Prime Minister, Begum Khaleda Zia, and conveyed sympathy to the Government and people of Bangladesh and the family members of Ms. Begum Khaleda Zia. He then signed the condolence book.
The Bangladesh's first female Prime Minister, Begum Khaleda Zia, had made a friendship visit to Myanmar from March 19 to 21, 2003. At the time of her passing, she was 80 years old, it’s reported.
