






In accordance with the directives of the National-Level Leading Committee for the Development of Electric Vehicles and Related Industries, the Ministry of Science and Technology, in collaboration with relevant departments, is striving to implement the development processes of Electric Vehicle (EV) technology in the State.
Accordingly, Deputy Minister for Science and Technology Dr. Aung Zeya, who is also the Chairman of the Committee for the Research and Development and Technology Dissemination of Electric Vehicles and Related Materials, attended the Work Committee meeting (3/2025) via hybrid-mode, from Meeting Hall 2 of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Nay Pyi Taw on December 31.
In his opening remarks, the Deputy Minister stated that for the country to achieve international-level development in the EV sector, preserve valuable natural environments, realize modern Smart Transportation and Smart Cities towards a Sustainable Future, reduce fuel costs, improve public health, and create a continuously developing prosperous national future, a roadmap and policies have been set until 2050.
He mentioned that departments are collaborating and striving in accordance with the directives, among other points. Subsequently, responsible officials from various ministries attending the meeting explained the completion status of tasks over the past year included the opening of EV training courses by the Technology Promotion and Cooperation Department, research activities on EV charging systems, EV batteries, online charging station search and inquiry, and emergency response-related mobile software applications, as well as other committee-related tasks.
They also presented the completion status of committee work and operational plans for the coming year. The Deputy Minister supplemented necessary points, facilitated coordination among departments, and delivered concluding remarks, it is reported.
