






Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Aung Gyi visited L&Z Marine Food Products LTD (Cold Storage Plant) in Dagon Seikkan Township, Yangon Region, on January 1 to enhance coordination between private entrepreneurs and departments, aiming to increase the production and export of fishery products as high-value commodities in international markets and to ensure cleanliness and food safety.
The factory officer explained that the plant has a daily freezing capacity of 25 tons and operates with a 1,500-ton cold storage facility. To produce high-quality products cleanly, staff are sent to training courses offered by the Fisheries Department.
Production, storage, and export processes are carried out in accordance with prescribed regulations and standards. The factory has obtained approval for export to EU countries and Saudi Arabia and primarily exports freshwater and marine fish varieties.
Year-wise export tonnages were also explained. Similarly, visits were made to CK FROZEN FOODS YANGON CO., LTD., ADVANCED SEAFOOD INDUSTRIES CO., LTD., and MYANMAR GOLDEN PHOENIX INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD. in Thaketa Township. Regarding the presentations by private entrepreneurs, the Deputy Minister stated that while substantial foreign exchange earnings are obtained annually from exporting fishery products, efforts must be made to increase the yearly export tonnage of internationally recognized high-value fishery products.
He also expressed that the department is ready to provide comprehensive and multi-faceted assistance to the extent possible regarding any difficulties or needs in conducting such operations. The Deputy Minister then observed the step-by-step operations within the factories and supplemented necessary discussions and instructions, it is reported.
