






The MSME Product Market Fair and Music Show opened at People's Square in Yangon on Friday to commemorate the 78th Anniversary Independence Day.
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein attended the event, together with other concerned officials. Speaking at the event, Yangon Region Minister for Economic Affairs U Myo Myint Aung said the fairs were held in line with the Acting President’s guidelines to promote domestic, import-substitute products and boost exports, while allowing the public to purchase goods at affordable prices.
He said MSME product exhibitions have been organized across Yangon Region, with 17 fairs held from December 2022 to November 2025. The event was opened with the ceremonial ribbon cut by Yangon Region Minister for Development Affairs U Bo Htay, Minister for Economic Affairs U Myo Myint Aung and chairmen and officials from the industrial zones.
This was followed by the various stage performances by Kayin and Shan ethnic troupes, Drum and Bugle corps and cash reward presentation to the performing troupes by the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister and officials later toured the MSME stalls and shops.
The event will be held from January 2 to January 4, daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., featuring more than 350 shops and food stalls. During the fair, talk shows and performances by film, musical and theatrical artists will be held for the public, along with lamp illuminations, hot-air balloon launches and fireworks displays. Charity food and ferry services will be provided for visitors under the arrangement of the Yangon Region Government, it’s reported.
