







To welcome and honor the 78th Anniversary Independence Day falling on January 4, 2026, the Union Auditor-General’s Office Staff Family Sports Competitions were held in the morning on January 1 at the open square in front of the Advanced Accountancy and Audit Training School, Union Auditor-General’s Office, Nay Pyi Taw.
Union Auditor-General Dr. Khin Naing Oo attended to encourage the participants and delivered opening remarks.
At the sports competitions, the Union Auditor-General stated that the event is held to invigorate patriotic spirit to admire the value of independence, to support health and sports promotion for the longevity and robustness of the entire nation, to ensure office staff are healthy and strong, to cultivate good habits of collective action and unity among all staff, and to enliven the spirit of sportsmanship. She expressed hope that all staff would gain unity, relaxation, and joy through this event.
The sports competitions featured a variety of events, including potato picking, egg-and-spoon race, food-eating race, 100-meter dash, and 50-meter dash, race carrying winnowing tray on head, needle-threading race, three - legged race, 200-meter relay race, and sepak takraw, held according to the schedule.
The competitors participated with unwavering determination and an undefeated sports spirit, giving their full effort without conceding defeat, while responsible officials and staff families enthusiastically cheered them on. Subsequently, the award ceremony continued.
The Union Auditor-General, Deputy Auditor-General, Permanent Secretary, and responsible officials presented awards to the first, second, and third prize winners in each sports competition category. Consolation prizes were then awarded to all participants, it’s reported.
