Pope Leo XIV led Vespers followed by the singing of the hymn Te Deum at the Vatican on New Year’s Eve, before visiting the nativity scene in St Peter’s Square. In his remarks, the Pontiff thanks all those who worked over the past year to serve pilgrims and who helped to make Rome a more welcoming city, and describes the Jubilee, which concludes on January 6 with the closing of the Holy Door at St Peter’s Basilica.
