The completion ceremony for the project titled "Promoting the Development of the Cattle Farming Sector through Field Visits to Villages in the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area to Study, Assess the Quality, and Manage Requirements for Improving Cattle Conception Rates," implemented with the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund (2024), was held at the University of Veterinary Science, Yezin Universities Area in Nay Pyi Taw in the morning on December 30.
At the ceremony, Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Min Naung delivered the remarks. He stated that in this project, using modern equipment to examine and analyze the reproductive tracts of female cattle, employing ultrasound machines, hormone testing devices, estrus detection equipment, and reproductive health examination systems allows for accurate assessment of cattle's reproductive conditions and precise selection of breeding times. Such systematic examination with equipment reduces infertility issues, promotes the increase of high-quality, purebred, and improved livestock, and contributes to the comprehensive development of the nation's livestock production.
Although the project period has concluded, he urged all to continue applying the research results obtained from the project in practical fields nationwide, collaborating to enhance the incomes of cattle farmers and agriculturalists and to increase the propagation of high-quality, purebred cattle.
Following this, Professor Dr. Soe Win Naing and responsible officials presented the objectives of the project development, the completion status of activities in the project work plan, findings from research studies conducted under the project, and medical findings from the healthcare provided to cattle during the project.
At the ceremony, Deputy Minister U Bo Bo Kyaw presented certificates of honor to the teachers and students who contributed to the successful implementation of the project and delivered concluding remarks.
