Opening of Mahāpatthāna Recitation: Rakhine State CM attended the opening ceremony

The Rakhine State Government organized the opening ceremony of the uninterrupted Mahāpatthāna Dhamma Discourse in the morning of December 31 at the Lawka Nanda Pagoda in Sittwe. Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, the State Chief Justice, members of the State Government, department officials, and invited guests attended the event.

First, the State Chief Minister and his wife, along with members of the State Government, paid homage to the Buddha Image inside the Lawka Nanda Pagoda and offered flowers, water, and oil lamps.

Following this, the guests led by the State Chief Minister received the Five Precepts from the Presiding Patron Sayadaw of the Nandārāma Pariyatti Monastery in Sittwe.

Subsequently, Senior members of Sangha led the reciting, initiating the recitation of the Paṭṭhāna Paccayuddesa Pāli, and the members of Sangha designated to recite in turns continued the recitation of the Paṭṭhāna Paccayuddesa Pāli.

Afterwards, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, along with members of the State Government, attended the training completion ceremony of the Basic Sewing Training Course, which was opened by the Committee for Creating Employment Opportunities for the Elimination of Child Labor in Rakhine State, supervised by the Rakhine State Government, at the Khaing Thazin Hall.

At the ceremony, Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin stated that sewing is a suitable occupation for girls and that those who have mastered this skill can start their own preferred livelihood business from home, making it a manageable type of work. He encouraged the trainees, who have now gained a solid foundation from this course, to further specialize in areas of their interest, study external lesson books, and practice diligently to retain the lessons.

Following this, the State Chief Minister and his wife, along with responsible officials, presented awards to the first, second, and third prize winners of the course, honorariums to the trainers, as well as training completion certificates and commemorative gifts. A trainee then expressed words of thanks. Afterwards, the State Chief Minister and his wife, along with responsible officials, toured and encouraged the display of garments sewn by the trainees.

It is reported that Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htein Lin and his wife, the State Chief Justice, members of the State Government and their wives, and department officials later offered alms rice and basic food items to the Senior and junior nuns in front of the Attula Marazein Pyilone Chantha Pagoda, organized by the Rakhine State Government.
