Distributing Drum Seeders: MGY CM handed over drum seeders for farmers

A ceremony to distribute drum seeders to local farmers was held at the Aungmyay Shwewa Hall in Aunglan Township, Magway Region on December 29. The Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin, along with member ministers, officials from regional, district, and township levels, and local farmers attended the event.

First, Chief Minister U Tint Lwin stated that Magway Region is a Region that cultivates a variety of crops including rice, various beans, oil-producing crops, and industrial crops. To improve the yield per acre, it is necessary to switch to high-yield varieties, develop soil layers, ensure adequate irrigation and water supply for cultivation, prevent and control various pests and diseases, and implement proper farming techniques.

To ensure proper farming methods, hand-operated harvesting machines and drum seeders have been provided and distributed. Within the region, there are currently 18 harvesting machines, 42 hand-held harvesting machines, and 1,375 drum seeders in use. To achieve full proper farming practices across all monsoon and summer paddy cultivation areas, efforts are underway to distribute an additional 4,079 drum seeders.

As the regional government, they also expressed their desire to cooperate and work together to ensure the success and progress of the projects by coordinating and providing the necessary assistance. The Chief Minister handed over seed trans-planters to the township committee.

Furthermore, the attending farmers presented reports on regional development, which were clarified and discussed by the relevant departments. The Chief Minister coordinated and fulfilled the necessary requirements, and it is reported that the region government donated Buddha statues for worship in lucky draw system.
