Opening of Bridges: MCRD UM attended the opening ceremonies

To welcome and honor the 78th Anniversary Independence Day, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development, Rural Road Development Department, and Bridge Construction Group held the opening ceremony of an 180-feet submersible bridge at the bridge site on the Nyaungpintha-Shartaw inter-village road in Tatkone Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on December 30.

The bridge was constructed using funds from the National Disaster Management Fund and the Union Budget Allotted Fund for the 2025-26 fiscal year. Union Minister U Hla Moe, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo, and responsible officials attended the event.

First, Union Minister U Hla Moe delivered remarks, stating that the opening of this bridge would benefit the education, health, and social affairs of 2,690 households with a population of 11,359 people across three villages in Tatkone Township. It would also enable the low-cost and timely transport of produce such as paddy, corn, chili, sesame, peanuts, various pulses, and sugarcane from the villagers' 3,900 acres of farmland to urban markets.

He extended gratitude and honor to all those who assisted in various ways to make the bridge construction possible, among other remarks. Subsequently, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo explained the current status of rural road and bridge construction within the Nay Pyi Taw Council area. Following this, a villager, on behalf of the villagers, expressed gratitude for the construction of the bridge.

Then, Union Minister U Hla Moe, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Than Tun Oo, and responsible officials cut the ribbon to open the bridge and inspected it by crossing. Afterwards, the Union Minister and officials visited the "Hla" cotton ginning mill and power loom factory of the "Hla" Yarn Production Cooperative in Tatkone Township, observed the ongoing operations, and gave necessary instructions.

Later, the Union Minister and officials proceeded to Ohnpinzu Village, Nyaungpintha Village Tract, Pyinmana Township. They attended the opening ceremony of the 3,500-feet Ohnpinzu Village farm road, constructed by the Rural Development Department using approved funds from the 2025-26 fiscal year.

Union Minister U Hla Moe and responsible officials cut the ribbon to open the farm road and inspected it by touring the area. Following this, Union Minister U Hla Moe delivered remarks. Then, a villager, on behalf of the villagers, expressed gratitude for the farm road. In the afternoon, the Union Minister attended and addressed the Coordination Meeting of the Leading Committee for Urea Fertilizer Procurement, Distribution, and Sales held at the meeting hall of the Union Minister's Office.

Afterward, the Committee Secretary, presented records of the quantities of fertilizers and pesticides endorsed company-wise for January, February, and March 2026, as well as the implementation status of previous meeting resolutions. The Chairman of the Myanmar Fertilizer, Seed, and Agrochemical Entrepreneurs Association explained the status of fertilizer and pesticide procurement, distribution, and sales.

Subsequently, Committee members including Deputy Ministers, representatives from the Central Bank of Myanmar and Myanma Economic Bank, representatives from member departments of the committee, and a representative from the Myanmar Rice Federation participated in discussions. Union Minister U Hla Moe supplemented necessary instructions and delivered concluding remarks.
