Skier glides down Mount Etna during eruption

A lone skier descended Mount Etna in Sicily, Italy, as the volcano erupted on Saturday. One of the world’s most active volcanoes, Etna had shown several days of intensified activity, with craters continuously emitting ash. In response, scientists issued a red Volcano Observatory Notice for Aviation, the highest alert level. Authorities, however, stated that flights at a nearby airport would continue operating normally unless ash-fall increased.
