Kosovo’s incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti defended his government’s record at a rally held one week before the early parliamentary elections, citing pension increases, pension system reforms and military modernisation.
Kurti said retirement assistance had risen from €100 to €120 and then to €150, with further increases planned in line with economic growth. He also outlined proposals to allow early retirement, including a gradual reduction of the general retirement age from 65 to 63, and an option for police officers to retire at 55 if they meet the requirements.
On security, Kurti pointed to expanded military capabilities, stating that the Kosovo Security Force had diversified its equipment from a limited range of small arms to about 40 types of weapons and defence systems, including three types of drones.
