Anchovy, one of the most consumed foods in Türkiye and an indispensable staple for the people. Nowadays anchovy has returned to market stalls with the arrival of winter. At the “Anchovy Festival” held in Istanbul, more than 4 tons  of anchovies were served to participants.

Guests were offered more than 80 different anchovy-based dishes prepared at 16 stands. From desserts to döner, many varieties were made, but the biggest favorite among fish lovers was anchovy fried and served in bread.
