




Bangladesh Embassy in Myanmar on Sunday organized the commemorative event for the Great Victory Day at the Embassy in Yangon.
The ceremony commenced with the opening speech delivered by Bangladeshi Ambassador to Myanmar Ambassador Md. Monwar Hossain.
H.E. Md. Monwar Hossain, Ambassador, Bangladesh Embassy said "In Myanmar and around the world, we share this Victory Day with our neighbor and friends. Since Bangladesh wants peace around the world and stability in the region, the celebration of this day in terms of our relations with the neighbor will help in cooperation and friendship."
The Great Victory is celebrated annually on 16 December, commemorating the ultimate victory in country’s Liberation War in 1971. The Ambassador added that celebrating this special occasion could help young generation to move forward for the prosperous future.
H.E. Md. Monwar Hossain, Ambassador, Bangladesh Embassy said "This day is very precious and it remains in the heart of all Bangladeshi living at home and abroad. We celebrate this day with and enthusiasm, all people in Bangladesh go the monument which was enacted the memories of freedom fighters who sacrifice their lives in 1971. Until now, the story of 1971 guides us the way what we want to see our country and the young generation actually follow the guidelines and this help them to form a new and prosperous Bangladesh."
The celebration also featured traditional dance troupes from Myanmar and Bangladesh performed with traditional dances.
